Educapeques is an educational portal with lots of resources for teachers and parents. On the website, Editorial Educapeques of Spain offers games, printables, stories and poems for children. Many of the activities and materials can be used with Spanish language learners.
You will want to explore Educapeques to find what best fits your situation, but I will mention a few materials that work well with kids learning Spanish.
Printable Spanish Games for Kids
This printable Juego de letras is a set of alphabet cards with images. They have upper and lower case letters, a word that starts with the letter and a picture of the word. These cards can be used for different activities and teach common vocabulary. To download, click on descargar imagen under the picture. Each card has to be downloaded individually.
In this game, El juego de las sílabas locas, kids order syllables to make the words in the pictures. Again, you have to click on descargar imagen individually to download. There are additional cards to expand the game here: Las silabas locas 2. Click on descargar imagen to download each card.
For more printable games like these, click on Recursos para el aula in the navigation bar. In the drop down menu choose Fichas de letras. You will find lots of printables for working with individual letters and the vowels.
From the same menu, choose Material educativo para la clase for printables of the colors, days of the week, months of the year, seasons, time, basic concepts and more. There are classroom decorations and activities for kids, depending on the topic.
In addition to printable games, Educapeques has poems and readings that can be used with children learning Spanish. Some are more appropriate for advanced students and native speakers, but there are also materials that can be used at other levels.
Spanish Poems for Children
The poem Miau is a calligram, a poem in which the words create a visual image. I love this example, and this type of poem is easy for Spanish language learners to write. Another poem, Un par de calcetines, tells a story about a little boy who does not want to go to bed. It has basic vocabulary and repetition. You can find more poems by clicking on the Lectura para niños tab.
Online Spanish Games for Kids
Educapeques also has online games. On the navigation bar, click on Juegos educativos to go to six sets of games related to math, geography, logic and more. Many of these are appropriate for children learning Spanish.
For example, if you choose Más peques, Nivel 1 or 2, and then Audición y Lenguage, there are games that teach vocabulary. In ¿Cuál es el dibujo? (Nivel 1) and ¿Cuál es el dibujo? (Nivel 2) players click on a mouth to hear a word and then match it to a picture. There are other games too, that teach useful words with the support of pictures.
